WHAT IS PILATES?

Pilates is a physical fitness system developed in the early 20th century by German-born Joseph Pilates. Pilates not only improves flexibility and builds strength but also develops control and endurance throughout the whole body. It focuses on alignment, breathing, developing a strong centre or core, and improving coordination and balance. Exercises are modified within a range of difficulty from beginner to advanced and customized to meet individuals’ goals, needs and limitations.
